Butterflies at Ashman Grove  On Monday 4th May, Sooz brought in 3 Wanderer Caterpillars. Within 24 hours, they had turned into the pupa stage. Over the next two weeks, many residents watched the pupa slowly change from iridescent green, to a dark brown colour. The caterpillars emerged into beautiful Monarch (wanderer) butterflies on Sunday 17th May. Many residents had the opportunity to hold one and have their photo taken before we released them into the garden. It was a wonderful experience to see Mother Nature at her best.       |
