What is workplace giving?
Workplace giving is a simple, efficient and tax effective way to give a regular donation to UnitingCare Wesley Bowden through automated payroll.
How do you as an employee benefit from workplace giving?
Workplace giving gives you the opportunity to support the communities in which you live and work. You also receive an immediate pre payroll tax reduction and because workplace giving saves on administration and fundraising costs it means that more of your donation goes to where it matters.
Together, you and your employer can be a real force in supporting emergency relief in South Australia by contributing as little as $1 a week to UnitingCare Wesley Bowden.
How does it work for the employer?
Workplace giving takes little time to set up, and once the process is in place, it’s simple.
Employees specify the amount they wish to donate and it is then deducted from their pre-tax salary on payroll. The employer then pays the donation directly to UnitingCare Wesley Bowden and the employee is provided with a payment summary showing the total amount they have donated to UnitingCare Wesley Bowden over the entire year. Because the donation is contributed from pre-tax pay there is no need to keep or claim receipts.
Workplace giving provides employers with a vehicle to build a community partnership with UnitingCare Wesley Bowden and it is an easy way to increase staff morale by giving them the opportunity to do something they really care about.
