Children's Services

Child Care Links  Athol Park CFC  Torrensville CFC  Wesley CCC

UnitingCare Wesley Bowden has three child care centres that are situated in the centre and west of Adelaide. Two centres are Child and Family Centres that have innovative family and community programs and the third centre has a unique occasional care focus with a very innovative outside area.

Our aim is to manage a range of high quality children's services. This is based on the philosophy that affordable, high quality children's care should be available and accessible to everyone.

We involve parents and/or caregivers in decision making about the centres, policy development, staffing and general management through the Parent Advisory Committees.

Our centres provide services to families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, always respecting the individual rights of all families. We will ensure that all aspects of your child's developmental needs are programmed for and evaluated.

The centres are licensed by the Department of Children's Services and accredited by the National Council of Accreditation. Complete parent information and policy books will be provided on enrolment of your child.

UnitingCare Wesley Bowden understands the need for well informed, qualified staff. Regular in-service training, meetings and workshops are held at each centre throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to attend workshops that are relevant and UCWB Family Services offers parenting courses throughout the year.

Accreditation
The objective of the Quality Improvement and Accreditation System is to ensure good quality, affordable care for all children in childcare centres. Quality care involves providing a stimulating environment which promotes the physical, social, emotional and intellectual well being of children. This can be achieved in child care centres through attention to the interactions that take place between staff, children, and parents; through the development of appropriate curriculum and routines; through providing support for services and staff development opportunities; and through attention to the 10 quality areas involving the nutrition, health and safety of the children. Centres are rated according to the standard of care they provide. http://www.ncac.gov.au
