The Low Income Support Program (LISP) works with other agencies and organisations to raise awareness of the causes and effects that poverty and hardship can have in the local community. The program works towards developing strategies and resources to help alleviate the stresses that poverty and disadvantage can bring to individuals and families, as it aims to help people gain control of their financial situation.
The Low Income Support Program incorporates community development, community education, advocacy and financial counselling to individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The program includes a range of initiatives including:
The Western Region Anti-Poverty Forum (WRAP)
This forum is a network made up of community agencies, government organisations and individuals who meet on a regular basis to address low income issues affecting the community. If you would like to become involved in this forum, please contact (08) 8245 7136.
