The Planning in Partnership workshops will help you with information and resources to help you plan for the future. The aim of this programme is to support older Carers of people with a disability, and to assist them in planning ahead to anticipate and address changing Carer needs that arise as a result of ageing.
Examples of workshops include:
"Storybook" planning including a 48 hour emergency respite plans
Respite and other services
Legal issues including making a will
Disability accommodation and services
Mental Health resources
Emotional and other issues related to the caring role and planning for the future

EVENTS
Indigenous Planning in Partnership (in collaboration with Northern Carers Network)
A series of monthly meetings to provide planning for the future information and resources for Aboriginal carers of a child, grand-child, other relative or friend with a disability or ageing-related impairments.
Interactive social sessions will be combined with information and learning about: recording information; respite and other key services available including disability and mental health; legal issues including funeral planning, wills and guardianship; caring for the carer; disability/ageing advocacy services.
These meetings (11am to 2pm) will be held in the North, dates to be advised.
